PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION TO BID CONTRACT FOR SAEGERTOWN BRIDGE DECK REPLACEMENT HAYFIELD TOWNSHIP CRAWFORD COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Separate and sealed bids for Contract for Saegertown Bridge Deck Replacement consisting of, but not limited to, 1. Maintenance and protection of traffic - Detour. 2. Removal and proper disposal of the existing timber bridge deck, timber curbs and all metal connection hardware between the deck and steel stringers. 3. Installation of a new nail laminated timber deck and timber curbs (approximately 200 feet long by 16 feet wide). 4. Miscellaneous fabricated structural steel repairs (i.e. plating holes, etc.) to the existing steel trusses, steel floorbeams and steel stringers as determined during construction. will be received by CRAWFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS at Crawford County Courthouse, 1st Floor, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, Pennsylvania 16335 until 10:00 A.M. Prevailing Time on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, and will be publicly opened and read aloud in a meeting of CRAWFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Checks shall be made payable to The EADS Group, Inc. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE. Crawford County Commissioners (Owner) reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS, INCLUDING SUBCONTRACTORS, AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 102.01 OF COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SPECIFICATIONS, PUBLICATION 408/2016 EDITION, IS REQUIRED ON THIS PROJECT. The Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Project. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of Bidding Proposal, made in favor of "Crawford County Commissioners". Performance and Payments Bonds with good and sufficient surety, will be required as noted in the Information for Bidders. Bids must be submitted on the prescribed forms furnished by the Engineer in strict accordance with the Information for Bidders. No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to opening of bids. Should there be reasons why the Contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Crawford County Commissioners and the Bidder. It is proposed, after execution of the Contract, to begin work on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed or as otherwise provided in the Specifications and to prosecute all of said work so as to complete it sixty (60) calendar days after that specified date.
