PUBLIC NOTICE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID CRAWFORD COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FORMER COUNTY JAIL BUILDING – ASBESTOS REMOVAL The Crawford County Board of Commissioners request bids for the Former County Jail Building – Asbestos Removal – Contract No. 12021-2017-03. The contract covers the removal of friable Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) and certain non-friable ACMs that may become friable during the demolition of the former county jail building located at 360 East Center Street within the City of Meadville. Work includes abatement by removal of approximately 1,780 ft2 floor tile, approximately 600 ft2 troweled-on plaster, approximately 600 lf of pipe insulation, removal of approximately 40 fire doors and the investigation of two air handlers and approximately 100 lf of sheet metal ductwork. A pre-bid conference will be held at 360 E. Center Street, Meadville, PA 16335 at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, attendance is recommended. Bids must be submitted to the attention of Crawford County Commissioners, Commissioners Office at the Courthouse located at 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, PA 16335 by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017, at which time the bids will be opened and read publicly. A sixty-day bid hold period applies, and ten percent bid security is required.
