PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION TO BID CONTRACT FOR REHABILITATION OF CRAWFORD COUNTY BRIDGE #6 CONNEAUTVILLE BOROUGH, CRAWFORD COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Separate and sealed bids for Contract for Rehabilitation of Crawford County Bridge #6 consisting of, but not limited to, 1. Maintenance and protection of traffic - Detour. 2. Erosion and sediment pollution control. 3. Removal and proper disposal of portions of the existing bridge including, but not limited to, bituminous filled corrugated steel deck pans, steel stringers supporting the deck, steel curbs, steel bridge railing, and designated areas of the deteriorated concrete of the bridge abutments. 4. Installation of new steel stringers, new nail laminated wood deck, and new structure mounted guiderail (deck approximately 80' long by 15' feet wide). 5. Structural steel repairs to the existing floorbeams 6. Reconstruction of the bridge seats/backwall at the abutments for the new stringers. 7. Approach roadway work including roadway reconstruction to provide a smooth transition onto the bridge and approach guiderail installation. 8. Site restoration work. will be received by CRAWFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS at Crawford County Courthouse, 1st Floor, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville, Pennsylvania 16335 until 10:00 A.M. Prevailing Time on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, and will be publicly opened and read aloud in a meeting of CRAWFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Copies of Contract Documents including Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the office of The EADS Group, Inc., 450 Aberdeen Drive, Somerset, Pennsylvania 15501. Copies of Contract Documents including Drawings and Specifications may be obtained at the office of The EADS Group, Inc. upon payment of $100.00, plus six percent Pennsylvania Sales Tax ($106.00), for each set. Checks shall be made payable to The EADS Group, Inc. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE. Crawford County Commissioners (Owner) reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS, INCLUDING SUBCONTRACTORS, AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 102.01 OF COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SPECIFICATIONS (PUBLICATION 408, 2016 EDITION) IS REQUIRED ON THIS PROJECT. The Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Project. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of Base Bid Proposal, made in favor of the "Crawford County Commissioners". Performance and Payments Bonds with good and sufficient surety, will be required as noted in the Information for Bidders. Bids must be submitted on the prescribed forms furnished by the Engineer in strict accordance with the Information for Bidders. No Bid or any part thereof shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of the Bids. It is proposed, after execution of the Contract, to begin work on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed or as otherwise provided in the Specifications and to prosecute all of said work so as to complete it ninety (90) calendar days after that specified date.
