PUBLIC NOTICE The Borough of Cambridge Springs will receive sealed bids labeled Water Intake Improvements, until 3:00 p.m. on the 30th day of September, 2016, at the Borough of Cambridge Springs Office, located at 161 Carringer Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work generally involves: • Install and remove temporary containment area for excavated material to be stock piled while it dries. • Excavate material around and under intake screen with long reach excavator positioned on top of bank. Utilize diving team to clean under intake screen and to prevent damage to pipe while excavating. Remove approximately 120 cubic yards of material. • Place approximately 120 cubic yards of R8 rip rap along the streambank to prevent future erosion. • Haul away and dispose of excess excavated material at off site location. • Restore disturbed surfaces. Copies of contract documents, including plans and specifications for the contract work, may be examined beginning September 19 at the Borough of Cambridge Springs Office or at the office of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., 8 Gibson Street, North East, Pennsylvania 16428 and may be obtained from Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. upon payment of $75.00. This payment is for each set of contract documents and is non-refundable. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record as having obtained the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond with corporate surety, payable to the Borough of Cambridge Springs in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. This Project is subject to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Prevailing Wage Rate Determinations, which are included in the Contract Documents.
